Terms of use

Last updated · 13 Oct 2026

These terms cover two things: visiting custeum.com, and holding a record that a shop has opened for you. Following a record at its link or taking custody of it means you accept them.

If you run or work at a shop, the shop agreement applies to you instead.

01

Who we are

Custeum is operated by Organikode (ABN 88 490 922 768), of Melbourne, Australia. On this page “Custeum”, “we” and “us” mean Organikode.

02

This website

The site describes Custeum to shops. It carries no prices and makes no offer; a shop begins with a conversation. The words, drawings and design are ours, and the photographs are credited to their makers. Do not copy the site wholesale, interfere with it, or use it to mislead anyone about who you are.

03

The record is the shop’s work

A record is written, photographed and published by the shop. We provide the place it is kept and the means by which it reaches you. We do not check what a shop publishes, and questions about the work, the piece, its price or its delivery belong with the shop.

The certificate issued when a record is sealed lists the record’s stages and names its holder. It is not a certificate of authenticity, a valuation, a warranty, or proof that anyone owns the piece.

04

The link

Your record opens at its link without signing in, and it always will. Anyone who has the link can read the record, so pass it on as you would the piece’s own papers.

05

Taking custody and your account

  • Taking custody keeps a record in your own Custeum account. It costs you nothing.
  • You take custody by proving the inbox the shop holds for you, with a link or a code. There is no password, so the security of your account is the security of your email.
  • One person, one account. An email address that signs into a shop cannot also hold a client account.
  • If you lose access to your email address, contact the shop or write to us. The shop confirms it is really you, and we move your account to a new address after a notice to the old one.

06

What custody gives you

The record in your Collection, beside every other record you hold. Once a record is sealed, its certificate, and every photograph and document to download and keep.

The photographs and words remain the shop’s. You may keep them, show them and share them for your own purposes, including when you insure or sell the piece. Using them commercially needs the shop’s agreement.

Custody is personal. A record cannot be moved to another person’s account.

07

How long a record lasts

We keep your record for as long as Custeum operates. A published stage cannot be edited or withdrawn by the shop, and your record is never removed because the shop left, was suspended or stopped paying.

Two honest limits. We may take down or restrict a record, or part of one, where the law requires it, including on a valid request from a person it identifies. And if Custeum itself were ever to close, we would give every account holder at least ninety days’ notice and the means to download everything they hold.

08

Emails

The emails about your record are the record arriving: the commission beginning, each stage, the seal, a service falling due. Exclusives from a shop are optional and every one carries a one-click unsubscribe, which stops that shop’s Exclusives and nothing else. Preferences lets you quiet a shop entirely.

09

Fair use

Do not try to reach a record or an account that is not yours, guess at links, collect records by machine, or interfere with the service. We may suspend an account that does.

10

Leaving

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to contact@custeum.com. The privacy policy says what is removed and what stays.

11

Our responsibility to you

Nothing here limits the rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or under any consumer law that applies where you live and cannot be set aside.

Beyond those rights, Custeum is provided to you free and as it stands. We are not responsible for the shop’s work, for the piece, or for what a shop publishes or fails to publish, and we are not liable for indirect loss.

12

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and its courts hear any dispute. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own country’s law that cannot be set aside.

13

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the head of the page changes with them. We will email account holders before a change that affects what custody gives you.
